Take a look at what we do
WCN has plenty of ways for you to get involved. Join one of our teams and give as much or as little time to suit you.
Whether it is volunteering on the telephone helpline, doing a bit of shopping, marshalling at the Covid Clinic, helping out at the Wells Welcome Hub, or fancy a bit of cycling with our Trishaw. We are always looking for people to organise, fundraise, marshal at events so do please get in touch.
Join our telephone helpline team, a 2 to 3 hour weekly session answering the phone which can be directed to your home line or mobile phone. People are so appreciative to find an actual human at the end of the line who is there to help them. It makes a real difference.
The Wells Welcome Hub helps displaced people find the information they need to settle in. Our volunteers help welcome, offer language support, and help with signposting, organising activities and events.
Our volunteers join a WhatsApp group and when requests come in volunteers can offer to do a bit of shopping or collect some medication. The occasional lift to an appointment.

Our Trishaw pilots cycle people around the beautiful city, stopping off for a cup of tea. They listen to people’s stories and help them feel connected to the community.

Our marshals help Locking Pharmacy with their covid and flu vaccination campaigns. Whether it is the administration or guiding people into the car park the team is on hand to help the process go smoothly.
Behind the scenes we are always looking for help with admin, marketing, social media, grant writing, accounts, publicity and technology

Join our events team to help organise The Volunteers’ Week Annual Tea Party or Wells Community Day and our fundraising events. We meet fortnightly, we are a very friendly bunch who welcome new members
